Infertility is unpredictable.
Your sense of self doesn’t have to be.
We know firsthand the effects of fertility treatment—it shakes your identity, confidence and place in the world.
Meanwhile, you’re relearning how your reproductive system works, while taking high levels of hormones that wreak havoc on your body.
At embee health, we believe everyone on their family-building journey deserves to feel strong and confident—no matter what treatment throws at them.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Hi, I’m Laura Mattis.
I thought family-building would be easy; I never expected to end up in fertility treatment, let alone IVF.
I felt ashamed that something was wrong with me, and fearful that it may never work. After years of trying to conceive and multiple early pregnancy losses, I felt beat up and worn out.
My life was overtaken by infertility — I could think of nothing else. I wasn’t ready to give up on treatment yet, but I was ready to live again.
As I shared my experience, I realized I wasn’t the only one feeling alone, struggling with overwhelm and worry.
That’s why I built embee health: to lighten the burden of family-building and help people see a clearer path forward.
I’m still on this path myself, working toward a child of my own — I know firsthand the strength and resilience it takes to keep going.
I’d love to help you rediscover your voice.

CURRENTLY IN TREATMENT
I’m still going through IVF for unexplained infertility, shaped by age, diminished ovarian reserve, and likely endometriosis.

HEALTH COACH IN TRAINING
I’m completing certification through Wellcoaches®, a respected program used by healthcare professionals. My training focuses on evidence-based tools like motivational interviewing and behavior change.

What does “Embee health” Mean?
“embee” sounds like the letters “M-B”. These letters represent the Mind-Body connection, a scientifically-validated concept that our brains and bodies influence each other.
For example, stress affects us mentally (i.e., brain fog, rushing thoughts) and physically (i.e., high blood pressure, shaking). To effectively manage stress, we should address both our physical symptoms and mental state.
Parenthood requires us to be our strongest self, so we’re dedicated to helping people strengthen their minds and bodies together.

IS Infertility is CAUSED BY stress?
No, we definitely don’t think a vacation or alcohol will solve infertility.
We do believe that fertility care should include both our minds and bodies. While REs and OB/GYNs support your hormones and physical reproductive health, embee health wants to support the other—just as important—parts of you.
